Ye Ping's Death
Due to stubbornness and lack of communication, the misunderstanding between Ye Ping and Zi Xuan grew. Unable to bear the pain, she soon returns to Nan Zhao Guo, her home country.
Eventually war broke out and as the Nuwa descendant, protector of her people, Zi Xuan was willing to sacrifice her life for them. Just when she was being executed, Ye Ping charges in to her rescue. He loved her very much and did not want to see his wife die. However, as she cannot abandon her people, she refuses to leave with him. Seeing him in so much danger, she desperately urges him to leave, even lying and saying she never loved him. He angrily refuses to believe her words and continues on without hesitation.
Unfortunately, Ye Ping is soon stabbed to death by an army of men, leaving him covered in blood on top of Zi Xuan. With his dying breath, he asks her who else is in her heart. Sadly, he passes away before she had the chance to tell him. Zi Xuan is completely devastated and cries out “You are Ye Ping. You are also Liu Fang. You have always been the only one I loved!”
