After hearing a woman is luring men at a tavern and “brain-washing” them, Yeping sets off to investigate. He sees Zixuan once again, and watches her very closely as she flirts with the men around her. Although stiff and composed at first, Yeping starts feeling confused as he gets a glimpse of her sorrowful heart. He does not remember her, but senses a familiarity. Her dialog suggests a history and broken heart which he is partially to blame.

Disappointed and somewhat frustrated that he cannot remember her, she sets back to drink her sadness away. As she walks off, he finds a tear drop from his eyes. Yeping becomes rather anxious seeing her torment herself. When she does not stop drinking, Yeping snatches the cup off her and drinks it in her place. A taoist monk is forbidden to drink alcohol but he broke the rules for her.

Somewhere buried within him is a sense of jealousy, a feeling which cannot exist without love. Why does he care about her so much?
